Sunset Hills Children's Foundation
Jennifer Hernandez is an advocate for the children in our community and over the last five years has shown it through her work with the Sunset Hills Children’s Foundation.
She has 5 amazing children of her own, one that is currently serving our great nation in the US Army. Her other children attend our local schools between VV and AV. She understands the importance of being an advocate for children, showing them there are ways to get through the most difficult times in life, as they are our future. Having gone through numerous tragedies in her own life, Jennifer is truly passionate and understanding of the importance in the work she is currently doing!
Jennifer has been a resident of the High Desert for over 25 years and has over 15 years experience in special event planning from weddings and corporate events to festivals and fundraisers. She is involved in numerous organizations throughout our community, always looking for ways to give back, such as the District Advisory Committee for the Victor Elementary School District, the Victor Elementary Education Foundation, Community Relations Board at the Federal Prison, to name a few, and of course the Adelanto Chamber Board. However, it wasn’t until five years ago that she found her true passion when coming to work for Chet Hitt and the Sunset Hills Children’s Foundation. Here she is able to meet and interact with so many great people throughout our community and build amazing relationships that will truly stand the test of time. In doing so, she, along with the help of so many fabulous volunteers and donors, has been able to open the Sunrise Center. The Children’s Foundation deals with a lot of tragedy and some days are tougher than others. But at the end of the day, knowing she, the volunteers and donors are making a true difference in the lives of children and young adults makes it all worthwhile.
